I worked on eight radio stations and three TV stations in a long career, but the greatest were working with the always-cool Dave Diamond in small markets, (Peoria, IL & Knoxville, TN), before he was rich and famous when we were both poor and infamous. (I once walked off the air and quit in protest when a station fired him.) A lovely, talented human being. I hope this finds him alive, well and still ready for a laugh. - Jack Etzel

Hi, Linda:

Thanks for the wonderful note you sent to me. It made me feel good. I left KFRC for LA in l971 and worked there for 18 years. Then I went back to school and got my MA (two of them) and a Ph.D, and became a college professor. I am retired but still teach one class every year. I live in the mountains in Western South Dakota…the Black Hills. Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Crazy Horse. I was born in SD so I have come full circle. I live in beautiful Spearfish (Spearfish Canyon) and am surrounded by three mountains. I have been at Black Hills State University for l7 years.

I always answered my mail when I was at KFRC. I am happy to know it did some good. I related to all those kids out there with their transistors, as I was one myself at one time.

Best of all wishes to you,

Dave Diamonod 1024 N. 8th St. Spearfish, SD 57783

I fondly remember the apartment on Tamarind. It was my first home in Hollywood. I could see down into Columbia Studios from my bedroom window. I also remember your father. Thanks for writing to me. I also remember the Teen Fair at the Hollywood Palladiuim. I was with KBLA in Burbank then, and we were broadcasting live from the Teenage Fair.

Take Care,
